1) Which is the proper brush for straightening?
It must be a brush with firm bristles (not flexible) with single height (not bi-tufted) and featuring excellent grip to the roots and tips. Condor recommends the Shana (6826) brush.
2) Which is the proper brush for finishing hairstyling?
The brush must feature soft combing, just enough for settling the frizzed hair and finishing. Condor recommends the 9630 and 6810 brushes.
3) What is the proper distance for using the dryer?
Ideally, the dryer should be 3 cm apart from the hair and the brush. Another factor that helps preserving the brush and its bristles is to avoid pressing the dryer against the brush, in other words, not "beating" the brush with the dryer during the hairstyling process.
4) Which brush should I use with the dryer?
Almost any of them, as long as they have: mixed bristles (natural and synthetic) and good handle grip. Brushes with plastic bristles and little balls on the tips are not recommended because they might melt with the dryer's heat and stick to the hair.
5) How to clean hair brushes and combs?
Ideally, the wooden brushes should be washed with mild soap and sun-dried once a week. The plastic brushes, painted or made of synthetic materials must be cleaned with a moistened washcloth with water and soap, only on the parts that touch the hair. The removal of the hair that gets stuck on the brush must be done daily or before each use.
6) Which brush should I use for untangling wet hair?
For untangling, the best brushes are the square shaped, with protective bristle tips (little balls). Condor recommends the Sheron (9510), Mila (9840), Kátia (6850) and Júlia (6887) brushes.
7) Which brush should I use for wet hair styling?
For styling, the ideal brushes are those with mixed and bi-tufted bristles, because they allow for better grip of the locks. Condor recommends the Life brush.
8) What's the difference between the brushes with straight or diagonal bristles?
The brush with diagonal bristles has a better grip to the hair and its power to stretch the hair is bigger, thus it's recommended for straightening. However the straight bristled brushes have moderate grip and should be used for straightening with movement and also for curling the hair.
9) Which are the paintbrushes for nail decoration?
Condor offers many shapes, recommended for various nail decoration artistic techniques. They are 4080, 4090, 4120, 4220 and 4650.
10) Is there a proper brush according to peoples' age?
No. Pay attention to the hair length and use a proper size brush, because using small brushes on long hair might entangle and damage it.
11) When should I replace my hairbrush or comb?
For the brush, it should be replaced when it loses the action power on hair or if one of the parts shows wastage, such as deteriorated bristles, missing pins or bristle protective tips. For the comb, they should be replaced when the teeth become twisted or missing.
12) Why are both mixed and natural bristles used in brushes?
The term "mixed bristles" applies when the brush has a mixture of natural boar bristles and nylon threads. The nylon threads provide the product with heat resistance and flexibility, while the natural boar bristles, besides preventing frizz, allow a soft and sliding effect to the brushing process.
